Powder brows by Alison Burns — soft, diffused shading

The price list

Powder browsA soft, powdery brow with a light front and a defined tail — the look of a brow pencil applied by somebody who is very good at brow pencil, except you wake up with it already done.£295
Ombré browsThe same technique as powder brows, worked to a deliberate gradient — barely there at the front, building through the arch, strongest at the tail.£295
Combination browsFine hair strokes drawn through the front of the brow, with powder shading behind them. The most realistic finish, and the most work.£325
Lip blushA soft wash of pigment through the whole lip that brings the edge back, evens out the colour and makes the shape read — without the hard liner-and-lipstick look.£195
Colour boostsSemi-permanent means exactly that. Every so often the colour needs putting back, and a boost is a fraction of the time and cost of starting again.£150
Brows and lips togetherBoth treatments booked together, done on separate days so each heals on its own.£450
Colour boost, 6–18 monthsRe-saturating existing work inside 18 months, when the shape is still there and only the colour has gone.£150
Colour boost, 18–30 monthsBetween 18 and 30 months. More work, because there is less left to build on.£195
Correction or cover of existing workCovering, reshaping or colour-correcting work done elsewhere. Price after a photograph and a consultation, never before.from £250

A deposit secures your appointment and comes off the price of the treatment. It is not an extra.

What is in it

  • A proper consultation before anything is decided — shape, colour and whether it is right for you at all
  • A patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment
  • Pigment matched to your colouring in daylight, not chosen from a chart
  • Shape mapped and drawn on, and approved by you in the mirror, before the first needle goes anywhere near your skin
  • Single-use sterile needles and cartridges, opened in front of you
  • A written aftercare plan and a healing balm to take home
  • Your perfecting session 4–6 weeks later

Worth knowing before you compare

A first appointment is not a finished result. Almost everyone needs a perfecting session at four to six weeks, so a £220 treatment with a £130 top-up is a £350 treatment with the awkward half hidden. Ask anybody you are considering what the total is to a finished result, and whether the consultation and patch test are charged.

The other number worth knowing is what going wrong costs. Removing badly placed pigment takes several saline or laser sessions at £80–£150 each, weeks apart, with no guarantee of getting back to bare skin. That is the real price of a bargain brow.
